To contact you members of Congress in Washington, call
1-202-224-3121 and ask for the member by name. Many
members' district and state offices, listed in the blue pages of most
telephone directories, can switch callers to their Washington office. Many
members have toll-free numbers for reaching their main district office. To
send a letter or postcard to your representative, write U.S. House
of Representatives, Washington, D.C. 20515. The address for all
senators is U.S. Senate, Washington, D.C. 20510.
Most representatives, senators and staff have e-mail
addresses. Several Internet sites provide e-mail and Internet address
information for members of Congress. Among the best of these are: Project
Vote Smart www.vote-smart.org and
C-SPAN www.c-span.org. Staff e-mail
addresses follow a pattern. If John Smith works for Rep. Jones, his e-mail
is john.smith@mail.house.gov. If Jane Doe works for Senator Snowe, her
e-mail is jane_doe@snowe.senate.gov. Bill status information, including
co-sponsorship data, can be obtained by calling 1-202-225-1772 from 9 a.m.
to 6 p.m. Easter Time.
To request documents (legislation of committee reports)
you can either contact a member of your Congressional delegation or write
directly to the House or Senate document room: House Document Room, B-18
Ford House Office Bldg., Washington, D.C. 20515-6801 or Senate Document,
